Clinical Assistant Professor

Dr. Hawko is an occupational therapist who has worked in clinical practice for over 26 years and has a certification in low vision. She has worked in many settings across the medical spectrum, including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, subacute care, home health, and outpatient rehabilitation. She has worked primarily with adults with neurological conditions such as strokes, traumatic brain injuries, concussions, progressive degenerative conditions, age-related changes, and spinal cord injuries. Dr. Hawko has worked in leadership roles and has worked on program development, prioritizing evidence-based practice and research, and using outcome measures to support the care provided. She managed the University of Vermont Medical Center's occupational therapy student program while hosting level 1 and level 2 students.
