Visiting Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering

Jeff LaMondia received his Ph.D. and Master's degrees in Transportation Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in 2010 and 2006, respectively. He received his Bachelor degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Connecticut in 2005. Originally from Connecticut, Jeff also lived and worked in Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Austin, Texas; and now Auburn, Alabama. He previously worked as a engineering intern at the Connecticut Department of Transportation (where he created a project management and tracking software tool) and as a pathways consultant for Teton County, WY, and the Friends of Pathways non-profit (where he developed/collected/analyzed surveys to inform the Jackson Hole/Grand Teton National Park multiuse pathways master plan). Jeff has conducted research since 2003 as a research assistant at both the University of Connecticut (focused on improving multiuse trail safety and testing methods for mapping vehicle routes based on GPS data) and the University of Texas at Austin (focused on innovating the long-distance travel behavior field and optimizing demand-response transit system simulation). At the University of Connecticut, Jeff also led the Institute of Transportation Engineers student chapter to collect cycling travel surveys and write the UConn campus bike master plan. At the University of Texas at Austin, Jeff also served as a statistical consultant for campus faculty and students at the UTexas Statistics and Computational Science Office. Dr. LaMondia now works at Auburn University as an Associate Professor, where he teaches and conducts research in transportation engineering.
