Current Production Season

Introducing the production season for the UVM School of the Arts Program in Theatre and Dance during the 2026/2027 academic year.

Auditions for theatre productions are open to all UVM students. In some cases, professional actors serve as guest artists on productions, or community members are cast to fulfill the needs of a particular show.

Tickets for any of the productions listed below can be purchased online. In addition to purchasing tickets for individual shows, we offer the option of purchasing a 3-show Membership Package for our line-up of theatrical productions presented in the Royall Tyler Theatre. More information about the 3-show membership package can be found by scrolling down to the membership package tab.

Thank you for supporting the UVM Program in Theatre and Dance and we look forward to seeing a performance during the 2026/2027 academic year.

KJ and Jasper decide to take Evan under their wing and the three develop an unusual friendship, helping each other understand the power of connection. Limited chairs will be available. Audience are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets to make yourself comfortable.

Taking place right in the heart of campus, this show features 20+ Theatre and Dance performers utilizing sound and movement to create a unique project that is built around the iconic UVM location. This frenetic/quiet, chaotic/still, neurotic/relaxing, fun/serious, and very thoughtful performance investigates the “blather” of our everyday lives. Amidst the noise and confusion, is there room to find each other and connect? How do we strive to find communication, quiet, and peace? What is there beyond the noise – is there only “blah”?

Directed by Paul Besaw. Assistant directors/choreographers Lily Horowitz ’27 and Noah Saltzman ’26. Original sound/music creation led by Koa Ritz ’24.

The project is supported by the UVM School of the Arts, and therefore is tied to Imagined Futures, the 2026-27 SOA theme. The project is also supported by the UVM Humanities Center, and therefore is tied to silence/noise, the 2026-27 Humanities Center theme.

Workshop Production of a New Play with Music

By Alexis Scheer with music by Dan Ryan

Directed by Zeina Salame

Performances: March 31-April 4, 2027

Alexis Scheer, playwright of the cult sensation Our Dear Dead Drug Lord, brings a bold new work to the stage. CHRISTINA irreverently reimagines The Passion through the lens of a high school girls’ choir, where rehearsal becomes ritual and harmony becomes power. When one girl declares that the divine moves within her, belief spreads quickly — ecstatic, urgent, and dangerous. At the center of it all is her best friend, torn between devotion and doubt, and edging toward betrayal. With Scheer’s signature savage wit and a haunting live choral score by Dan Ryan, CHRISTINA dares us to envision a new kind of savior.

Parking

Body

The best place to park during evening and weekend performances is in the Allen House Lot on the corner of Main and Prospect Street. Turn in as if going to Admissions and take a quick left into the lot. We do not recommend parking directly in front of the theatre where it says "No parking anytime" as the City of Burlington will ticket and tow. Handicap Parking is still available next to Morrill.
