What work looks like: “Various responsibilities surrounding the design of commercial and residential space.”
What he loves about it: “I love that some days I am working with engineers on the HVAC of a building, other days I am dreaming up a new home, restaurant, or hotel design, and other days I am meeting with elected officials about changing zoning requirements in a developing neighborhood. Every day is new and different, utilizing different parts of my brain.”
What he gained from a liberal arts education: “I think the biggest impact for me was the communication skills I learned as part of the Lawrence Debate Union (LDU). Alfred “Tuna” Snider, Helen Morgan Parmett, and Justin Morgan Parmett have had some of the biggest influence in my life outside my family. I will forever be grateful for the knowledge they bestowed upon me and the lifelong friendships I gained from them. They were incredible mentors who encouraged me to see the world from multiple points of view. Join the debate team! The LDU is the source of my academic and professional success. It gives you the skills to think critically and articulate a point of view.”
