What his day looks like: “My daily life entails working in a hospital, in which I see patients and learn the craft of practicing medicine with a lot of helpful guidance from the doctors I work under.”
What he loves about it: “The best part about being in medicine is how rewarding it is seeing patients get better, whether it's hearing about their journey to better health or watching them improve at the hospital.”
What he gained from his liberal arts education: “Having an opportunity to get a well-balanced education as an undergraduate and explore topics I may never have the chance to study again was truly a special experience for me. I learned how important the arts are as a form of wellness and a break from other aspects of life. It has been an important piece of how I recharge so that I can continue to grow in my career. Having a well-rounded education also helped force me out of my comfort zone. For some people, an English class may seem like a breeze, but for me there was nothing more daunting than an empty page prior to starting an essay. It taught me an invaluable life lesson: to be more comfortable being uncomfortable. I found I had the ability to learn in different ways and was able to adapt to new learning environments. In doing so, I also found I enjoyed the process of finding new ways of learning.”
