Like many performers, members of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra have found ways to present music in this time of isolation. After recording a successful holiday video for clients of a retirement community, the VSO sought to create deeper connections. They reached out to the VA Hospital and elderly population advocates Age Well. Volunteers’ recorded interviews of their own musical experiences are interspersed with performances from VSO members, including UVM affiliate artist Jane Kittredge (violin) and professor D. Thomas Toner (percussion). Vivaldi and Dvorak set the tone for Vermonters’ own stories of the therapeutic nature of music. Read more in the Rutland Herald.
