Western Abenaki people are the traditional and current stewards of the land on which UVM stands. From sharing interpretations of archaeological heritage, to teaching traditional farming and land use practices, to building a deeper understanding of indigenous culture, the Abenaki people enrich UVM faculty, staff, and students with their wisdom and partnership.
