Program Overview

The Writing Minor is for students interested in enhancing their writing and communication skills through introductory, intermediate, and advanced workshops. In addition to offering training in all genres (fiction, poetry, nonfiction, playwriting, and screenwriting), UVM’s workshop courses instruct students on how to plan and develop drafts, to deliver and receive constructive feedback, and to revise effectively. The Writing Minor pairs well with majors across the university, enabling students from many disciplines to improve their creative and communication skills in engaging, close-knit classes.
