Prof. Paul Besaw's Good Dirt is "a performance created for rural settings that explores back-to-the-land work and dreams through music, dance, and storytelling." It features performers from the performance collective Agnes Table, including fellow UVM dance professor Clare Byrne. Originally conceived in 2015, Besaw brought the work to South Korea during his sabbatical there in Fall 2016, and formally presented it at this year's UVM Publications Reception.

The annual reception is presented by the Faculty Senate and the Office of the President.

"Central to the mission of our research University is the creation and dissemination of new knowledge. At this reception, we celebrate the accomplishments of our colleagues who have published a book or produced a substantial creative project that year. As an institution, it is essential that we recognize your achievement.

We invite submissions from all full- and part-time faculty, emeriti faculty, and staff who have or will have published a book or accomplished a similarly significant achievement in the fine and performing arts in 2017."
