Taite knows radiation therapists play a crucial role in a patient’s cancer journey. The medical radiation sciences major spent his final semester living in Boston, working full-time in a clinical practicum at Massachusetts General Hospital before starting a full-time radiation therapist job.

Wing Yin “Ellie” Cheung ‘23

Ellie kept busy at UVM. She was a resident advisor, peer mentor, and more–all while spending her final semester in clinical rotation at the UVM Medical Center. Ellie’s experience led to her current role as a medical laboratory assistant at Seattle’s Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.

At UVM, microbiology major Remi performed top-level research in an immunology lab and was a winner of the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship, all in preparation for a career in immunology research. Now, he’s continuing his journey as a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Washington.

Jon Lewis '23

Jon received a job offer from the U.S. Forest Service before his final semester even began. After an internship with a timber company, a summer job in the U.S. Forest Service, and an induction to the National Forestry Honor Society, Jon is now a forestry technician in Idaho, working on silviculture.

Emma turned her love for the outdoors into a career, landing a position at Superior National Forest in Ely, Minnesota. Hands-on learning experiences and an internship at the Forest Ecosystem Monitoring Cooperative (FEMC) laid the groundwork for a career she’s passionate about.

Mariah is a force in forestry. Named a Truman and Udall Scholar while at UVM, she proved her commitment to the environment and sustainability. Now, Mariah is a soil conservationist for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
