UVM Extension’s New Farmer Project is here to help you connect with online and on-the-ground resources to help start and grow your farm business. We bring together information and resources from Extension and the broader agricultural community. Our goal is to help you streamline your access to information that is most relevant to your unique interests and needs

Education

Growing Places: The Basics for successful start-up
Get your enterprise off to the right start through UVM Extension's Growing Places Course. Participants define goals, explore and evaluate opportunities and resources, and become familiar with state and federal agriculture programs. The next online session runs from Jan. 10 to Feb. 6 2022.

Technical Assistance

UVM's new Farm Management Team (FMT) Program is available to help farmers with planning and problem solving. Participating producers select their own team of advisors, and working with a trained facilitator the group collectively develops recommendations and potential solutions to address management priorities identified by the farmer. The program is offered free of charge to Vermont farms.
