Sales Manager Position at Central Vermont Flower Farm. We are looking for someone with flexible hours during our growing season to assist at our wholesale cut flower farm in Roxbury Vermont. Our season runs from May 8-to November 30. We can shorten it to end October 1. Computer skills necessary, including a working knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel programs. Good communications skills essential. After training, you will: Have working knowledge of crops grown; Understand how to prepare flowers for shipping; Interact with customers and take orders, by phone and email; Receive payment by credit card over the phone; Create availability list with the farm manager and keep customers informed; Oversee quality control, bunching and boxing in preparation for shipping; Hire temporary labor in packing shed if needed; Arrange for shipping with FedEx; Occasionally drive farm truck to meet the FedEx truck. In June, peony season requires three weeks of work at 60 hours/wk (Saturdays off). Early September work may also be intense, $16.50/hour. Benefits not included. Must have reliable transportation and clean driving record. Both farmers looking for help and apprentices or workers looking for farms can create their own profiles, search listings, and get the contact information they need to find the right match.
