The National Association of Low-Profit Limited Liability Companies

The National Association of Low-Profit Limited Liability Companies (NAL3C) is a member organization with a mission to build stronger, more effective Low-Profit Limited Liability Companies leading to positive social change. In response to the pioneering Vermont legislation passed in April 2008 enabling the formation of Low-Profit Limited Liability Companies (or L3C's), the Vermont Business Center created the NAL3C  to support the unique needs of these business entities.   

The L3C is not a nonprofit. More specifically, the L3C is a new form of limited liability company which combines the best features of a for-profit LLC with the socially beneficial aspects of a nonprofit. It is the for-profit with a nonprofit soul.
