Financial Assistance for Vermont Manufacturers
Grants from the Vermont Training Program at the Vermont Department of Economic Development
The Vermont Business Center is an authorized provider of education and training for manufacturing companies through the Vermont Training Program. Any manufacturing company participant who registers for any of our Management Development Seminars (excluding Franklin Covey Programming) or the Business Coaching Professional Certificate Program will receive a grant of 50% of the program fee upon registration. The Vermont Training Program promotes industrial expansion and encourages the creation and retention of jobs in manufacturing by providing training for new and existing businesses. For more information about the Vermont Training Program, see their website.

Vermont Student Assistance Center (VSAC) Non-Degree Grants:
Any Vermonter enrolled in a non-degree course that will improve employability or encourage further study is eligible to apply for a Vermont Non-Degree Grant. The Vermont Non-Degree Grant is a need-based grant, and if eligible the awards range up to $885 per term (maximum of two terms per year) for the 2006-2007 academic year. Applications are available at Vermont Department of Labor offices, vocational center, other schools, and VSAC. Financial Aid for Traditional Academic Programs (for-credit graduate and undergraduate education):
Financial assistance is generally available to students taking six or more credits. Students must be degree candidates or enrolled in a required course of study leading to acceptance in a degree/professional certificate program approved by Continuing Education or the dean of the appropriate college. Federal financial aid is available to qualified students in the form of student loans. This program is available for one 12-month period and may include both subsidized and unsubsidized loans. Eligibility for financial aid is determined by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. UVM's Title IV school code is 003696.
