Friday, August 21: Schedule at a Glance
9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
TREK Check-in and Pack Check
Please do not arrive earlier than 9 AM!
When arriving on campus, please head to the Gutterson Parking Garage top level, entering from Spear street. The Gutterson Garage is adjacent to the Patrick Gymnasium, where participants will check-in for their TREK trip.
TREK participants and their families should make their way to the Patrick Gymnasium Main entrance. Please bring ALL trip gear, and leave anything that will not be coming on TREK in the car. Upon arrival at the Gymnasium, participants will be directed to the check-in tables and pack check. Families will be able to connect with each other, TREK staff and other University representatives while they wait for their TREK participant to complete the check-in process.
Until 2:30 PM
Residence Hall Move-In
Once they have checked-in and have gone through their TREK items with their trip leader, participants can leave their TREK pack with their leader, re-unite with their family members, and begin moving into their Residence Hall. Participants have until 2:30 PM to move in. Don’t worry if there isn’t enough time to unpack everything completely -- there will be time to settle in after everyone arrives back from their TREK trips.
Want to grab a bite to eat on-campus? Redstone Dining Hall is open from 11am to 1pm, and the Davis Center Marketplace is open until 2:30pm. The Davis Center is also home to CatPause Convenience Store and Henderson's Café!
This is also a great time to say farewell (for now) to families before heading to the TREK kick-off at 3 PM!

Student Involvement and Belonging: Insider Advice Families Can Offer Their Students (Families and Supporters)
Dudley H. Davis Center, Grand Maple Ballroom
Families and supporters, join us for a welcome from Erica Caloiero, Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. Opening remarks from Dr. Marlene Tromp, President of the University of Vermont, will follow, and you are invited to enjoy refreshments as the program begins.
Afterward, Lina Balcom, Director of Student Life, will share how families can play a powerful role in shaping their students’ college experience. You will gain practical tips and conversation starters to help your student get involved, meet new people, and feel rooted on campus. You will also discover the wide range of opportunities available, including clubs, organizations, events, and leadership roles, and learn how engagement supports student success. This session will offer strategies for encouraging your student to explore their interests, try new things, and find their community.
