Start with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is used to apply for federal student aid, including grants, loans, and work-study funds. At UVM, it is also used to determine your eligibility for need-based institutional grant, scholarship, and loan aid.
As part of the financial aid process, new first-time, first-year and transfer students, starting in Fall 2025, must also complete the CSS Profile to be considered for all sources of financial aid.
