SGA Rentals are currently suspended through May 18, 2021. The Student Government Association currently has a fleet of 8 (12) passenger vans and 1 truck. These vehicles are available to be rented by SGA-recognized clubs and UVM Departments only.

SGA Club Rentals

Rental costs for SGA Clubs:

SGA Van - $70/day;  SGA Truck - $60/day

  • All SGA rental reservations must be made on UVM Clubs.  Reservations can be made 4 weeks in advance of the date you would like to request.  Reservations for weekend vans will start on Friday at 9 am, 4 weeks prior to the date desired.
  • All drivers must be 19 years of age, have a valid driver's license, and be a Certified UVM Driver
  • Clubs are only able to rent 2 SGA vehicles at one time.
  • If traveling over 50 miles from UVM, clubs must have 2 certified drivers per vehicle.
  • SGA Vehicles are able to tow trailers, but an additional online training is required to be able to tow a trailer.
  • Rental paperwork should be completed on Monday, the week of the reservation. Clubs must have funding in their budgeted or fundraised fund to pay for vans and fuel for the vehicle(s).
  • No 12-passenger vans are allowed to be taken to Canada (rented from us or another company) unless the driver of the van has their CDL. Not following this requirement can lead to over $1,000 in fines. Please refer to Canada’s Driver and Vehicle Requirement Page for additional information

UVM Department Rentals

PLEASE NOTE: The Student Government Association will no longer be renting to departments outside of DOSA during the academic year. SGA vehicles are for the use of SGA clubs and organizations and the influx of requests from departments has impeded our ability to prioritize our student groups. All departments are able to rent SGA vans during the summer.

Rental costs for UVM Departments:

SGA Van - $90/day; SGA Truck - $70/day

  • Summer departmental rental reservations can be made over the phone or by an email to uvmsga@uvm.edu.  Reservations can be made 2 weeks in advance of the date you would like to request.  Reservations for weekend vans will start on Friday, 2 weeks prior to the date desired.
  • Rental paperwork should be completed at the earliest convenience after making the reservation.  A chartstring will be required to pay for the rental and must be supplied on paperwork submitted.
  • All drivers must be 19 years of age, have a valid driver's license, and be a Certified UVM Driver.
  • Departments are only able to rent 2 SGA vehicles at one time.
  • If traveling over 50 miles from UVM, departments must have 2 certified drivers per vehicle.
  • SGA Vehicles are able to tow trailers, but an additional online training is required to be able to tow a trailer.
  • No 12-passenger vans are allowed to be taken to Canada (rented from us or another company) unless the driver of the van has their CDL. Not following this requirement can lead to over $1,000 in fines. Please refer to Canada’s Driver and Vehicle Requirement Page for additional information
