EHS is dedicated to providing quality assets and resources for continuing a culture of workplace safety.

The Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is one of six unique departments founded in the Summer 2022 within the Division of Safety and Compliance.

EHS Staff work in promoting a continued culture of excellence in health and safety by providing outreach and education; hazards assessments: recognize, assess, and minimize exposures to hazards, compliance assistance; incident response preparedness, and encouraging continual improvement in the workplace. 

Working in cooperation with Academic Units, Facilities Management, Residential Life, and other departments, EHS helps to recognize, assess, and minimize exposures to workplace hazards on campus with the goal of reducing injuries and illnesses.

At UVM, safety is a partnership and a shared responsibility requiring the active involvement of people in all departments and positions. Whether you work in academic or research settings, facilities management, or any UVM location - our goal is to help you be as safe as possible.
