Developed in collaboration with the Larner College of Medicine, the UVM 42-credit online Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a Concentration in Global Health Leadership prepares skilled and versatile graduates dedicated to improving public health through practice, research, education, and leadership.

The Global Health Leadership curriculum explores timely public health and policy issues to build a strong foundation in population health sciences for success in diverse Public Health career settings, with further emphasis on broader global issues including climate change and human health; international collaborations, systems, and structures; and public health leadership in a global environment.

Our online Accelerated Master of Public Health is the perfect option for undergraduate students who want to save time and tuition by earning your undergraduate degree and MPH in approximately five years. Join the growing number of savvy students who are achieving their goals in this innovative online program.

UVM Undergraduate Students

UVM undergraduate students who are accepted into the Graduate College will complete six to nine public health graduate credits during their senior year which will apply toward both their undergraduate degree and MPH. Students complete the remaining required credits online during the fifth year of study, including summer.

Undergraduates at Other Institutions

Undergraduate students who are accepted into the program complete 1-2 online courses and earn 3-6 credits towards their MPH degree during the summer between Junior and Senior year. Immediately following their Senior year, students who have met the conditions of the MPH complete the remaining required MPH degree credits, taking advantage of the very accessible online courses offered year-round including each summer session. Make a difference in diverse fields

Developed in collaboration with the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont, our 42-credit, online Master of Public Health (MPH) degree blends public policy, research, and population health sciences to give students a 360° picture of the public health landscape. Students can choose a Generalist MPH degree or an MPH with a Concentration in Global Health Leadership. All graduates of our program will be fluent in public health policy that will empower them to make a difference in diverse fields – Behavioral Sciences, Biostatistics, Environmental Health, Epidemiology, and Health Services Administration. Students in the Generalist MPH Program Students take 9 credits in three elective courses, with flexibility to pursue the Public Health area of most interest. Students in the Global Health Leadership Concentration take 9 credits in three Global Health-specific courses, developing analytic and practical skills for a career in this fast-growing field.    

Full-time students can complete the MPH in as few as 15 months and up to five years. Students who start the MPH in the summer session can complete the program in four semesters.
