BIO

As the Employee Wellness Manager at the University of Vermont, Cara Hancy collaborates with leadership, units, and divisions to promote workplace wellness. She leads initiatives that build awareness, develop programs, and create training opportunities to strengthen a culture of wellbeing across the university.  

Cara joined UVM HR in 2021, and in 2023, UVM’s Employee Wellness program moved under the Osher Center for Integrative Health, aligning wellness efforts with the center’s mission-driven work. Cara holds an undergraduate degree from Ithaca College and a master’s in Leadership Studies from Northern Vermont University – Johnson. She has also completed the Health and Wellness Coaching curriculum at the UVM Osher Center and is preparing to sit for the National Board HWC exam.  

Cara lives in Morrisville, VT, where she has been an active community member for the past 20 years, serving as a swim coach and engaged parent. She enjoys skiing in the winter, swimming outside in the summer, and finding moments of quiet when she can.
