Maternal Health Innovation (MHI)

The Maternal Health Innovation project supports work across sectors to improve the health and well-being of birthing people.

The Maternal Health Innovation project is a federally funding initiative of the Vermont Department of Health Family and Child Health Division. These efforts focus on better coordination of care, using data to guide improvements, and making services accessible for everyone.

The VCHIP PQC-VT team will support the MHI initiative by developing and supporting health improvement strategies to enhance health outcomes for the perinatal population in each region through Regional Perinatal Quality Collaboratives (RPQCs).

What is a Regional PQC?

Body

A regional PQC is state investment in a regional partnership model approach that recognizes the importance of engaging local leaders from both community and clinical settings to improve perinatal health outcomes in communities. Anchored in Maternal Health Innovation grant at the Vermont Department of Health, we share the goals and efforts to reduce maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity (SMM), and find sustainable improvements in maternal health service delivery, data collection and policy development.
