Our mission is to enhance the health of all children in the UVM Health Network through clinical care, research, education, and advocacy, fostering equitable and inclusive improvements that can be shared nationally and globally.

Education

Education is vital to our department, demonstrated by our leadership in undergraduate, graduate, and continuing programs that improve child and family health. Our faculty lead medical courses and participate nationally in educational organizations and innovative initiatives.

Our faculty’s research advances pediatric health knowledge and enhances access to clinical trials for children in Vermont and upstate NY. This includes basic and translational science, clinical research, quality improvement, and health services research.

Connecting, Advocating, Serving

Advocating for children is part of our mission and is practiced on a daily basis on behalf of individual patients, as well as in the communities we work and serve in. We connect children and their families to resources at UVM and The University of Vermont Children's Hospital community partnerships
