NBC5: First With Kids - The final article (JUN 30, 2026)
Over the past three decades, Lewis First, M.D., M.S., has answered caregivers’ questions about children’s health in more than 1,500 “First With Kids” articles. In his final “First With Kids” episode on NBC5, Dr. First announces his retirement after 32 years as chief of pediatrics at Golisano Children’s Hospital at UVM Health and shares some thoughts with his audience.
“First,” he says, “just because ‘First With Kids’ will be ending as I retire, it doesn’t mean that the health and well-being of children should stop being a priority for all of us. It’s just the opposite! Never has there been a more important time to shape the future of our region, our country, and the world than by focusing on the next generation who will inherit that future—the children we care so much about.”
