The Larner College of Medicine Division of Public Health’s Micro-Certificate Graduate Study in Health Policy and Law is a 6-credit, 2-course program that gives students the opportunity to explore health-related policy making.

Program Overview

This online program is designed for Graduate students, health practitioners, public health professionals, researchers, and environmental professionals. It can be completed as a stand-alone program or as part of a Master’s, MD, or PhD program.

Curriculum

The Micro-Certificate of Graduate Study in Health Policy and Law is a 6-credit, 2-course program consisting of 2 required courses.

Required courses:

  • PH6100 Public Health Law and Ethics
  • PH6260 Legal Issues in Healthcare

Courses are taught by faculty experts from UVM’s Larner College of Medicine, the Vermont Department of Health, and experts trained at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

All out of state students for Fall 2026 are considered for scholarships which provide discounts of 35% - 65% off of published tuition rates. Eligibility for scholarships is subject to terms & conditions.
