Founded in 1924 by two public health graduate students Dr. Claude W. Mitchell and Dr. Edgar Erskine Hume, Delta Omega is the nationally recognized honor society for public health students. UVM is the Omicron Epsilon chapter.
Delta Omega at UVM Larner College of Medicine
Delta Omega is the national honor society for Public Health, and the UVM Larner College of Medicine (LCOM) chapter of Delta Omega is designated Epsilon Omicron. Delta Omega aims to recognize outstanding students based on their academic achievements and their commitment to the field of public health. Application for Membership
For membership, we are seeking students who have demonstrated real or potential qualities of leadership and a commitment to service in the university and/or larger community in public health during their time in the program, and who also intend to continue in the field of public health after graduation. The deadline to apply for Spring 2026 induction is Friday, April 3, 2026 11:59 pm.
