Qualtrics – Capture Identifying Information During Authentication

Collecting User Information

Ensure that you include a disclaimer notifying users of what information you are collecting in your survey.

UVM Affiliates Only

Using this method will prevent non-UVM users from responding to your survey.

The following guide describes how to automatically collect information from responding users with UVM credentials. This data will be stored alongside user responses in the Results tab.

  1. From within the Survey tab, select Survey Flow from the options on the left.

  2. Click + Add a New Element Here.Add a New Element Here text button
  3. Select Authenticator from the list of elements.

  4. Set the Authentication Type to SSO.
  5. Uncheck the checkbox next to Associate Respondent With Panel.
  6. Check the checkbox next to Capture respondent identifying info and click Add Embedded Data.
  7. Copy and paste any or all of the desired capture data from the table below into the corresponding fields, clicking the plus symbol () to add additional rows:

  8. Set the SSO Type to Shibboleth.
  9. For Connection, select either UVM without Duo Authentication or UVM with Duo Authentication.
  10. Click Move and then drag the Branch on Successful Authentication block to above the Question blocks.
  11. Apply your changes.
