Honors Abroad

The Patrick Leahy Honors College currently offers four study abroad opportunities that are unique to the PLHC and avaliable to all honors college students who are in good standing. 

Study Abroad Opportunities

These programs are designed specifically for the spring of sophomore year and fulfill one of the PLHC sophomore seminar requirements. 

Before deciding on a program, students must fulfill the "getting started" requirements through the Office of International Education. This will provide a better understanding of the kinds of information you should be looking for and the various steps required in the process.

PLHC students who wish to study abroad do not need to participate in one of these Honors Abroad programs. During the planning process you should meet with your home advisor and a PLHC advisor to confirm how you will fulfill your PLHC curricular requirements.  

Maastricht

University College Maastricht

University College Maastricht (UCM) is the Honors College at Maastricht University. It is one of the top ranked undergraduate programs in the Netherlands. All classes are small and are taught in English, utilizing an innovative pedagogical method called Problem Based Learning.
Glasgow

Principia Program at the University of Glasgow

The Principia Consortium is a group of more than 26 Honors programs at liberal arts colleges and universities from across the United States that participate in an Honors study abroad program at the University of Glasgow. This program is open only to Honors programs/colleges and their students.
NUSC

NUS College, National University of Singapore

NUS College (NUSC) is the Honors College at the National University of Singapore, one of the highest-ranked universities in Asia. It provides a rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum, seminar-style teaching, close student-professor relations, and a close-knit residential community.
