Frequently Asked Questions

What food can I expect visiting the cupboard?

Body

We keep a stockpile of shelf-stable foods, there will always be food in the cupboard for you to take.

We receive donations of perishable goods once a week, of baked goods & frozen meals from Hannaford's. We also receive fresh local produce from the VT Foodbank and local farms during gleaning season (Late April to mid October).

During the fall and winter, we order staple produce and bulk protein, through UVM Dining's generous in-kind donation program, including produce like onions, tomatoes, and potatoes, and protein like eggs, ground beef, and chicken breast.

Limited basic needs supplies, such as soap and laundry detergent, are also available. If you need additional support with these things, please contact Max Stieglitz (by clicking here!)!

Mission Statement

Rally Cat’s Cupboard is a student-run food pantry at UVM that seeks to address food insecurity among the campus community. We believe that no one at UVM should have to struggle with hunger. Through a lens of empathy and understanding, we hope to create a welcoming environment in which we work collaboratively to improve access to nutritious food and advocate for food security initiatives at UVM.
