BIO

Rae Kosac (she/her) is a substance use counselor with the CAPS program, and her office is located on the Redstone Campus. Rae graduated from UVM with her MSW in 2024, and prior to that attended Champlain College, graduating with a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice. Rae comes to CAPS from non-profit, community-based work supporting youth and young adults in skill building through exposure and helping them grow in their independence. Rae’s practice is relational, person-centered, and strengths- based. Rae uses a blend of motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral, and solutions-focused techniques to empower those she is working with in making the changes bringing them to the space. Rae holds clinical interest in supporting students in exploring impacts of substance use on their lives, psychodynamic approaches, and intersectionality. 

Outside of work, Rae enjoys to spend time outside with her 2 dogs, play volleyball, kayak, and is an avid crafter/practitioner of the fiber arts.
