BIO

Katherine “Kat” Geraghty (she/her) is a full-time registered nurse at Student Health Services, located at 425 Pearl Street. Kat received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Plattsburgh State University in winter of 2007. Kat started her career working in sub-acute rehabs, long term care facilities and assisted living facilities, focusing on Geriatrics and Dementia care. To expand upon her skills as a Geriatric/Dementia nurse, Kat received her certificate for being a “Death Doula”, after completing the class at UVM.

While working as a nurse manager in a memory care unit, Kat often worked with the UVM nursing students who came onto the unit for their Psychiatric Clinical rotation. It was through this work that Kat found out that she really loved working with the students. Then taking a leap of faith, she changed career paths and joined CHWB/SHS as a registered nurse in the fall of 2024.

Areas of interest are neurodiversity and supporting the LGBTQ+ community.

While outside the clinic, Kat enjoys time with her family, her animals and baking.
