Katherine “Kat” Geraghty (she/her) is a Health Care Nurse with Student Health Services at the Center for Health and Wellbeing. Kat received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minor in Psychology from Plattsburgh State University in December of 2007. Since then, Kat has worked in sub-acute rehabilitation units, long term care facilities, assisted living facilities, and hospice, including earning her certificate for being a Death Doula from UVM.
Previously, Kat worked as a nurse manager in memory care and as a clinical site preceptor for the UVM nursing program’s psychiatric rotation. Working directly with the students made Kat interested in working further with college students. In 2024, Kat became part of the team at Student Health Services.
Kat’s professional and personal interests are supporting neurodivergent folks both in life and navigating their college careers, as well as LGBTQIA+ affirming care, reproductive health, and supporting recovery for those with eating disorders. Kat is a part of SUMMIT: The Eating Disorder Assessment team at CHWB. Kat is also working on earning an IEDE: Inclusive Eating Disorder Education Certification.
