BIO
David Frydman (he/they) is in the Masters of Mental Health Counseling program at Antioch University New England, pursuing his dream of having a second career as a therapist. For the past three years, David has been working across lake Champlain, at the State University of New York in Plattsburgh as a senior counselor in the Educational Opportunity Program. Prior to that, David had a decades-long career as an attorney working primarily in the nonprofit sector, including on health care, affordable housing, same-sex marriage, and Medicaid reform. Realizing that his one-on-one volunteer work with New American college and high-school students was his most fulfilling pursuit, David decided to embark on his new path. David cherishes the opportunity to connect deeply with others in a curious and nonjudgmental way. He strives to support his clients’ growth and understanding as they wrestle with emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and relational issues on their unique journeys to find meaning, love, and joy.
