Dr. Jill Stockwell leads the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs within the UVM Graduate College, serving as the primary advocate and a resource for postdoctoral scholars, faculty mentors, and administrators. Reporting to Vice Provost for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and Dean of the Graduate College, Dr. Holger Hoock, Dr. Stockwell oversees orientation and professional development initiatives and acts as the liaison to the Postdoctoral Association.
Prior to joining UVM, Dr. Stockwell directed Princeton University’s Prison Teaching Initiative and supported the NSF-funded STEMOPS Alliance. She earned her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Princeton University, where she also held a postdoctoral research associate position and received fellowships from Fulbright and the Social Science Research Council.
Dr. Stockwell’s passion for supporting the thriving of UVM’s postdoctoral scholars builds on her previous work in advancing interdisciplinary scholarship, transformative mentorship, and access to higher education.
