The American Alliance of Museum awards a first place prize for the Fleming's newsletter design

The Fleming Museum's Spring 2019 newsletterThe American Alliance of Museums (AAM) announced their 2019 Museum Publications Design Competition winners recently and the Fleming Museum of Art received a first place prize for the design of their biannual newsletter. The AAM awards competition recognizes superior execution and ingenuity in the graphic design of museum publications and, this year, received over 350 submissions in 12 print categories from institutions of all types and sizes in the US and around the world.

“This year the judges were impressed with the innovation, creativity and production quality of entries and heartened to know that print media in the museum field is not only vibrant… but flourishing,” said Dean Phelus, senior director of leadership programs for the AMM.

The Fleming produces two newsletter each year that are mailed out to all Museum members. The newsletter includes information about upcoming exhibitions and programs, as well as behind the scenes content covering many facets of the Museum’s operations.

Fleming Director Janie Cohen said, “The Fleming is honored to have received the top award in the AAM’s design competition for our newsletter and calendar, which we design in-house.  It’s a competitive field and we are thrilled to receive this recognition.”
