Burlington, Vt.--Saturday, December 7, promises to be an out-of-the-world day for young people with a passion for hands-on learning.
Grade 3 to 5 students are invited to spend an afternoon exploring space-related topics through workshops led by VTeen Science Ambassadors, a group of high school students who love science and have taken a leadership role in creating science programming for younger youth. The free event includes building and launching straw rockets, taking core samples of “moon” rocks and constructing an astronaut lander.
Science Fun Day 2024 will take place from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on the University of Vermont (UVM) campus in Burlington. The program, sponsored by UVM Extension 4-H, is free but registration is required.
The event is limited to 30 participants with registration closing on December 5 or when all spots are filled. Interested students can sign up at https://go.uvm.edu/funday24. Registered participants will receive an email with the location and parking information.
