College of Nursing & Health Sciences Advising

First-Year Advising

First-year students' primary advisors are part of the student services advising team that helps facilitate the transition to college by providing guidance regarding academics, extracurricular activities, navigating UVM and more.

First-year students also take NH 50: Applications to Health, a one-credit course that includes opportunities to interact with nursing and health sciences faculty, explore UVM services that contribute to students' health and well-being, and develop strategies for academic success.

Advising Beyond the First Year

Students in their sophomore, junior and senior year are assigned to a faculty advisor in their major and encouraged to establish regular contact at the beginning of each semester and before registering for courses. Graduating students must meet with their advisor to review their CATS report and complete the Intent to Graduate form.
