Within the Field Naturalist Program, Sonia leads the first-year discussion seminar and loves to provoke her students into lively debate with controversial ideas in the field of conservation. She helps to keep the master's program running and offers students a listening ear. Elsewhere at UVM, she works for the Proctor Maple Research Center and the Natural History Collections. Outdoors, she enjoys birding by ear.
