BIO

Sally Burke is a Farm and Forest Business Educator. She provides one-on-one business advising to Vermont farm and forest products businesses. She supports owners in writing business and succession plans, developing financial statements, and building management skills to promote long-term viability.

Prior to joining the Agricultural Business team in 2025, Sally worked as a private equity research analyst for an asset manager in San Francisco. She also was a research assistant at the University of Vermont where her research focused on culturally acceptable food. Sally has worked on a handful of small farms across the Northeast and enjoys lending a hand on her friend’s farms whenever possible.

Sally holds a B.A. in Environmental Policy and Economics from Colby College and an M.S. in Community Development and Applied Economics from the University of Vermont.
