Matthew Burke's work addresses relationships linking society and nature specifically as related to energy, ecology, economy, and food. He is a Research Assistant Professor with Leadership for the Ecozoic at the Department of Community Development and Applied Economics. Matthew completed a Ph.D. in Renewable Resources — Environment at McGill University. Matthew currently coordinates the Ecozoic Alternatives research group.
