Kerry Daigle, Internship Coordinator and Academic Advisor in the Department of Community Development and Applied Economics (CDAE), has received the 2026 College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Excellence in Staff Support Award, recognizing her outstanding contributions to the students, faculty, and colleagues she serves.
The award recognizes CALS staff members who demonstrate individual excellence in their work and make a meaningful difference in the lives of their colleagues and the people they serve.
“Kerry has an extraordinary ability to meet students where they are and guide them forward with clarity, care, and confidence,” says Dr. Anaka Aiyar, one of the faculty members who nominated Daigle. “What stands out most to me is that she does not simply advise on courses, she helps students make sense of their entire academic journey. Whether it is helping a student navigate multiple majors, think through the right minor, understand transfer credits, or make the most of study abroad opportunities, Kerry approaches each interaction with intention and genuine investment in their success.”
In her role as CDAE’s Internship Coordinator and Professional Advisor, Daigle works closely with students to connect their academic experiences with professional opportunities, helping students navigate internships and develop valuable connections with organizations and employers. She also plays an important role in supporting CDAE’s programs, events, and community partnerships.
“Kerry brings an incredible level of care, energy, and commitment to everything she does,” said CDAE Chair Dr. Jason Konefal. “She is deeply invested in our students and is always looking for ways to help them succeed. We are incredibly fortunate to have Kerry as part of our department, and this award is a wonderful recognition of the impact she has on our community.”
The CALS Excellence in Staff Support Award is one of the college’s highest recognitions for staff excellence and celebrates employees whose work strengthens the CALS community.
