Scheduling Conflicts

Body

If you have any final exams that conflict in timing, or if you need to take any of your final exams at an alternate date/time than when the exam will be administered in class, please contact your professor for written permission to reschedule to a different date/time.

Once you have received written professor permission, please complete an EPC Finals Scheduling Help Request form.  Include your professor's permission in your form submission and EPC Staff will assist you with scheduling.

All final exam scheduling requests received after Friday, April 10th, 2026 at 12:00 PM (noon) will be considered late and subject to EPC Exam Scheduling Policy and remaining space availability.  If you have questions about scheduling an alternate date/time final exam, please email the EPC at epcser@uvm.edu.

If you're not sure how to start the conversation with your professor to ask for written permission to send to the EPC for alternate date/time final exam scheduling, below is an email template that you can use.

Email subject:

"Requesting permission to schedule final exam at EPC on [insert alternate date/time requested]"

Email to:

[insert professor email]

Email cc:

epcser@uvm.edu

Email body:

Dear Professor [insert professor last name],

My name is [insert your name] and I am enrolled in your [insert course name and section (i.e., MATH 1012 A)] course.  I receive exam accommodations through SAS and I intend to take my Final Exam at the Exam Proctoring Center.  The Final Exam for this course is scheduled for [insert in-class final exam date and time], but I need to take the exam on [insert requested date/time].

[Insert reason for scheduling for alternate date/time here.  Some examples of why students might need to take final exams during different blocks at the EPC may include:
- accommodation to take only one test/exam per day
- extended time would conflict with another final exam time]

The EPC requires written professor permission to schedule final exams for alternate dates/times than the UVM Registrar Final Exam Schedule.  Please write back if you approve my request to schedule my Final Exam on [insert requested date/time] at the EPC.  I've copied the EPC on this email; please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Best,
[insert your name]

Late Final Exam Scheduling Requests

Body

If you need to schedule a late final exam at the EPC, please email the EPC at epcser@uvm.edu.  All final exam scheduling requests received after Friday, April 10th, 2026 at 12:00 PM (noon) will be considered late and subject to EPC Exam Scheduling Policy and remaining space availability.

While the EPC will work with you to schedule a late final exam scheduling request (after the Final Exam scheduling deadline of Friday, April 10th, 2026 at 12 PM) if space and scheduling policy permit, we are NOT able to schedule same-business day or next-business day final exam requests.  Additionally, the EPC is NOT able to proctor late final exams without the approval of your professor and their submission of exam materials to the EPC.  Please work with your professor in advance to determine an approved date/time before contacting the EPC.
