Search Committee Membership Guidelines
MEMBERSHIP
In the case of a non-tenure-track faculty recruitment, the Dean and/or Chair will designate a committee to conduct the search for the position. When constituting the search committee, attention should be given to the composition of its membership with respect to academic discipline, research area (or other more appropriate area of responsibility) and rank. It is essential that committee members bring a variety of perspectives to the recruitment process.
APPROVAL
The membership of the search committee must be approved by the Associate Provost for Faculty & Academic Affairs.
The following information on committee membership is necessary for the Provost's Office review:
-rank
-home department
-academic discipline
-brief statement of research activity and/or background
-name of the committee Chair
This information should be submitted in the "Position Details" tab in PeopleAdmin. Approval of the requisition in PeopleAdmin will indicate approval of the search committee membership.
