"How One University Measured Faculty Productivity — and Nobody Got Hurt." That's the title of a Chronicle of Higher Education story this week that details how UVM has improved the way it measures faculty productivity. The initiative, begun by Provost David Rosowsky, involved deans and departments across the university in creating their own set of metrics specific to their disciplines.

"Allowing the academic community to take over the process was 'absolutely crucial' to its success, says Paul Deslandes, chair of the history department," the article states.
