In advance of study findings to be presented at the International Headache Congress, U.S. News & World Report features research led by Dr. Robert Shapiro, professor of neurological sciences, on the stigmatization of migraine sufferers, particular those with chronic episodes. In a questionnaire that asked respondents how likely they were to want to work with someone or how comfortable they would be inviting them to a dinner party, the stigma for migraines was similar to that of epilepsy and panic attacks.
