Sheila Boland Chira, Director & Senior Lecturer of English
Sheila Boland Chira joined the faculty at UVM in 1999 and has taught courses in American literary history, literary theory, race and ethnicity in literary studies, and composition. In 2018, she became the Director of UVM’s Undergraduate Writing Center. Sheila's enthusiasm for the rigors and rewards of writing pedagogy, practice, and support dates from her days teaching in New York University's acclaimed Expository Writing Program.

April Christenson, Program Coordinator
April joined the Writing in the Disciplines Program in 2016. As Program Coordinator, she provides operational and budget support, coordinates events, and manages communications, including program materials and the websites, for WID and the UVM Writing Centers. April holds a BA in biology from the University of Vermont. Prior to coming to this position at UVM, she provided medical office support and owned her own business.
