McKenzie E. Hart
Appointed to the Board by the Associated Directors for the Appointment of Student Trustees, Inc. in 2025. Term expires 2027. Born and raised in Arlington, VA. McKenzie is a recipient of the UVM Presidential Scholarship and is currently enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences, pursuing a major in Political Science with minors in Sociology and Statistics, class of 2027. She is actively engaged on campus as a member of the Political Science Club, Planned Parenthood Generation Action, and VPIRG Club, and was selected as a 2026 Presidential Leadership Fellow. Previously, McKenzie worked as a canvasser with the Vermont Public Interest Research Group, participating in a statewide grassroots outreach campaign aimed at mobilizing Vermonters in defense of democracy. Following the canvass, she interned in the office of U.S. Senator Peter Welch, where she processed communications and connected constituents with resources during a federal shutdown. McKenzie participated in UVM’s legislative internship program during the 2026 session, supporting Representative Laura Sibilia’s legislative priorities with a focus on education finance and the Vermont Sustainable Data Centers Act. McKenzie also worked on Ryan McLaren’s campaign for Lieutenant Governor.
