Theresa Alberghini DiPalma
Elected to the Board by the self-perpetuating board in 2026. Term expires in March 2032. Born in Barre, Vermont. A graduate of Vassar College, Theresa serves on several Vermont corporate boards and advises multiple community organizations. She is a committed advocate for women’s professional development and is passionate about mentoring women to develop leadership skills. Theresa began her career in the mid-80's with U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy, ultimately serving as Legislative Director, where she developed deep expertise in health care policy, including state-level reform and cancer prevention. In 1994, she was appointed by Governor Howard Dean as Vermont’s chief health care regulator, where she focused on expanding access to health insurance and strengthening consumer protections. Following her government service, Theresa spent two decades at Vermont’s Academic Medical Center. At the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine, she secured federal funding for research and education. She subsequently joined Vermont’s teaching hospital, contributing to efforts to restore public trust during period of organizational challenge. Theresa served as Senior Vice President at the University of Vermont Health Network until 2021, supporting the development of an integrated health care system serving more than one million people across Vermont and New York.
