Complete entrance counseling by selecting a tab based on whether you are an undergraduate or graduate/professional (College of Medicine) student.

• If you are completing entrance counseling to borrow a loan as an undergraduate student, then the entrance counseling will fulfill counseling requirements for Direct Subsidized Loans and Direct Unsubsidized Loans.
• If you are completing entrance counseling to borrow a loan as a graduate or professional student, the entrance counseling will fulfill counseling requirements for Direct Unsubsidized Loans and Direct PLUS Loans.
• While we recommend completing both the financial awareness counseling along with the entrance counseling, the financial awareness counseling is not required and will not satisfy the entrance counseling requirement.
• If you previously completed this entrance counseling while you were attending an institution other than UVM, you are not required to do so again. We recommend however, that you complete it again to be sure that you understand your rights and responsibilities of borrowing from these loan programs.
  • If you do not wish to complete the entrance counseling again, please email SFS and once we have verified that you have completed it previously, we will waive the requirement.

Follow Up: Once you complete entrance counseling, allow 3-5 business days for our office to receive your record of completion and to update your requirement in your myUVM portal.
