2021 Holiday Bazaar

Handmade Gifts
The 2021 Holiday Bazaar & Food Drive will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 9:00am to 3:00pm in the Davis Center’s Grand Maple Ballroom.
45 vendors representing UVM staff, faculty, alumni, retirees, students and community members will showcase and sell handmade products ranging from consumables, like jams, syrup, and honey, to décor, like ornaments, photography, paintings and wreaths as well as oils, soaps, hand-turned bowls, knitted and felted items, bags, clothing, and more. All are welcome! This is a perfect opportunity to find unique handmade and Vermont-made pieces that make striking gifts.

Bake Sale
In addition to these wonderful crafts, delicious home-baked goods will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the Bake Sale will go toward funding future events hosted by the Staff Council's Social Committee.

Raffle and Food Drive
As an added bonus, if you bring a non-perishable donation for this year’s food drive to benefit the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf, you will receive one free raffle ticket (free raffle tickets are limited to one per person) for a chance to win great prizes, including a season pass to Smuggler’s Notch, gift certificates to area businesses, and items donated by participating UVM artists and crafters.

How can I help with the event?
UVM Staff Council welcomes volunteers as well as donations of home-made baked goods to be sold at the event. All proceeds from this table and the rental fees for vendors help to support Staff Council Social Committee events such as bus trips, Champlain Valley Fair ticket discounts, Community Service Award Program, and much, much more. We will also be collecting pantry items for our Food Drive - all items will be donated to a local food shelf. Donation bins will be prominently placed throughout the day.

  • Sign up to Volunteer - even donating your time for just 1 hour can go a long way toward making this event a success!
  • Donate Baked Goods - help us raise the funds to keep putting on great events like the annual Holiday Bazaar!

The Holiday Bazaar is hosted by the UVM Staff Council. To learn more, contact the Staff Council Office at (802) 656-4493 or staff.council@uvm.edu.

Who can apply to be a vendor?
Those with a direct UVM affiliation as Staff, Faculty, Students, Alumni, and Retirees are eligible to apply to reserve 6ft. tables for the Holiday Bazaar beginning Friday, September 24, 2021. Non-UVM affiliated vendors will also be able to apply to reserve tables, but UVM affiliates will be given priority. All applications must be submitted by 4pm Friday, October 15th.

This is a juried show. To ensure quality and variety, the Staff Council Social Committee reserves the right to limit vendors selling similar products.

What can I sell?
Handmade crafts, pottery, artwork, home-made baked goods, maple syrup, wreaths, honey, soap, etc. No mass manufactured goods or multi-level marketing (MLM) products may be sold.

Individuals are responsible for selling their own crafts, collecting any sales tax, and any loss or damage to their sales items. The use of displays will be limited to the space that your table occupies, and should not block or infringe on another vendor's space. The Staff Council Office personnel reserves the right to deny use of a display that does not meet these criteria. If more room is needed, please consider applying for two tables for additional space.

What does it cost?
Tables cost $50 each. You may request up to two tables. It is up to the Jury Committee to decide on allocation of tables.

What is the process and what are the deadlines?

  1. The deadline for applications was Friday October 15, 2021

  2. You will be notified by 4 PM on the following Wednesday October 20, 2021 about whether you've been accepted as a vendor.

  3. If you're accepted as a vendor, you'll need to mail us a check, bring in a check/exact cash (please make an appointment), or request a link for online payment (which may incur processing fees). We will include all payment option details when we notify you of your acceptance. Your table(s) will then be held until the end of the day, Monday November 1, 2021. If we have not received payment from you by that date, we will offer your table(s) to those on the wait list.

After payment has been received, no refunds will be issued unless the event itself is cancelled.

If you have other questions or would like more information, please contact Staff.Council@uvm.edu or (802) 656-4493.
