The Larner College of Medicine Division of Public Health’s Micro-Certificate Graduate Study in Health Equity is a 6-credit, 2-course program that gives students the opportunity to explore healthy practices and disease prevention across all populations.

Program Overview

This online program is designed for Graduate students, health practitioners, public health professionals, researchers, and environmental professionals. It can be completed as a stand-alone program or as part of a Master’s, MD, or PhD program.

Curriculum

The Micro-Certificate of Graduate Study in Health Equity is a 6-credit, 2-course program consisting of 2 required courses.

Required courses:

  • PH6010 Public Health &Health Policy
  • PH6160 Social Determinants of Health

Courses taught by faculty experts from UVM’s College of Medicine, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, the Vermont Department of Health, and experts trained at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Individualized academic advising

Courses offered during Spring, Fall, Summer terms to ensure that you can fit the program into your work or academic schedule

Costs and Funding

All out of state students for Fall 2026 are considered for scholarships which provide discounts of 35% - 65% off of published tuition rates. Eligibility for scholarships is subject to terms & conditions.
